Birthday party

Yesterday Vishwanath gave us his birthday party. His birthday is actually on 29th March, but on that day two people in our team are on fasting including himself ;-)

So the party was on yesterday itself. We went to Sukh Sagar, Koramangala. Had a nice time out and a great party. Thanks to Vishwanath. Any body reading this post, send your greetings to him

Can Cricket improve Indo Pak relations

Yesterday I had been to landmark along with Animesh and Vishwanath. We went there just to show the bookshop to Vishwanath. There was a book launch of Rahul Bhattacharya Pundits from Pakistan. Also there was a discusstion with a title "Can cricket improve relations between India and Pakistan".

Sanjay Manjrekar, Mike Markusa (if i have misspelt the name sorry Mike ;-)), Ramachandra Guha and Rahul Bhattacharya where in the panel. The discussions was quiet interesting. It gives a feeling at grass root levels people want peace, hope the politicians pick up the threads of peace and move forward.

Dreams

Just I was thinking shall i put on all my dreams over here. I have lot of them. Some materailistic (I am a human being :-) after all). Some of them service oriented and some of them as big that it will change my nation.

I plan to open a hospital, which will provide world class treatment, without any fees. Without a fees, there is a catch you may think. There is a catch. I thought that we will keep a box which will behind curtains where the person can put whatever amount he wishes to pay. The patient decides the cost! Nobody will know which person gave how much. The money collected from that will be invested back in the hospital.

For the running of the hospital I plan to have a trust which will accept donations towards it. Seems to be a big dream for me. But i am sure of acheiving this one day.

My materialistic dreams goes like Scoda Octavia car, a dream pc(which anyway will become obsolete in 2 years) for my dad, a house of my own with lots of place for gardening...the list will go on...

Had been to my native

This weekend I had been to my native. Had a nice time with family. My native town is Tiruvannamalai. The place is famous for its Arunachala temple and the ashram of Shri Ramana Maharishi. I planned to go to my village also, but was not able to.

Today National Safety Day

Today is the National Safety Day. Why do we have such days. Is it that we have to be safe only this day.

No matter what the day is. We should have safety precautions. The most common safety precaution we ignore is, closing the regulator in the LPG cylinder after cooking. It not only protects seepage but also increases the duration for which the cylinder can be used. I have found out that by this simple technique my gas burns for atleast 3 days more with the same cylinder.

It seems that i have more ideas for energy conservation that tips for safety. I will just put some more energy conservation points.

While in a traffic signal switch of your engine. don't put it on idling. This not only saves fuel, it reduces pollution. Just think what is the kind of world we are going to give our children and grandchildren. A totally polluted earth or a place which will be pleasant for them.

When not in use switch of all the electical applicances. I know there are many offices, even though natural light is available, the lights are turned on from the morning itself. My office is a best example for that. The problem in our office is all the electrical accessories have a common switch, so i can't help it. Atleast do that whenever possible. Remember energy saved is energy produced.

While rural India is suffering from a shortfall of power even for irrigation purposes, we are wasting energy like anything. Even one of the readers reading this blog decides to save energy it will make my day.

Spelling mistakes

Vishwanath was quick to point me the spelling mistake, that i have made in the previous post. Read vehicle instead of vechile...

Now try reading the following sentence

Aoccdrnig to rscheearch at Cmabrigde Uinervtisy, it deosn't mttaer in waht oredr the ltteers in a wrod are, the olny iprmoetnt tihng is taht the frist and lsat ltteer be at the rghit pclae. The rset can be a toatl mses and you can sitll raed it wouthit a porbelm. Tihs is bcuseae the huamn mnid deos not raed ervey lteter by istlef, but the wrod as a wlohe.

I hope you were able to read it. Seems quiet/quite interesting/intresting.

Seems to be there are many words where misspelling is common, which can change the context of the message itself

Sweets for vechile birthday

Have you ever had a sweet for a vechile's birthday?

Today I had. Vishwanath gave sweet for his vechile's 4th birthday. Its a Hero Honda Splendor. Seems to be he is in so love with his vechile.

Now as I was thinking about it, the question came to my mind is, can we treat the day the vechile hit the road as birthday or the day when its assembly is over?

Seems to be the question applies for human beings also. The birthday of the person is the day he is conceived and not the day the person comes out of his mother...

any comments...

Different threads

I keep forgetting to update the blog. So it seems that the messages here are from different threads.

Earlier I posted about my travel plans, but I was not able to make it. I think that, I may go to Chennai by second week of March. Not finalised that as of now. but I hope

Is it a closing spree

Monday morning 9.30 AM I report to office, just to find out the other office in our building is closed. Even the employees working are not aware of that and returning amused.

Just today I found that they have scaled down there operation, just around 10 - 20 people are there now. The earlier strength was around 100.

Today we went for having tea, at a hotel near our office, just to find out it is closed its operations. Now for a tea, we have to walk 100 meters more.

Walking is good for health! isn't it :-)
